The San Pedro Port Management Consortium announced that it is already working on the execution of the maintenance dredging project in the maneuvering area, a fundamental intervention to preserve the operability and safety of vessel entry and exit operations.
The project involves dredging approximately 100,000 cubic meters of sediment using the Dasa I dredge, while the extracted material will be discharged in the duly authorized dumping sector, complying with all current technical and environmental regulations.
As part of these works, the awarded company, Dragados Argentinos Dasa S.A., submitted the corresponding documentation to the Argentine Naval Prefecture, requested the determination of the depth prior to the start of the work, and formally notified the commencement of tasks, in accordance with the authorization granted by the National Agency of Ports and Navigation.
"These works are the result of the administrative process initiated with Public Tender No. 01/2026, whose bid opening took place on May 14 at the headquarters of the San Pedro Port Management Consortium. On that occasion, two offers were presented, subsequently leading to the technical and administrative analysis that concluded with the awarding of the work," the entity indicated.
"Maintenance dredging constitutes a strategic task for the Port of San Pedro, as it will allow maintaining the navigability conditions of the port basin, optimizing terminal operations, and providing greater predictability to commercial operations, strengthening the port's competitiveness and its contribution to the productive and logistical development of the region," the entity emphasized.
