U.S. Navy Disables Two More Iranian Tankers as Hormuz Blockade Enforcement Intensifies
U.S. forces disabled two Iranian-flagged oil tankers, M/T Sea Star III and M/T Sevda, in the Gulf of Oman on Friday as Washington intensified enforcement of its maritime blockade targeting vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports. A U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet launched from USS George H.W. Bush fired precision munitions into the vessels' smokestacks. CENTCOM reported multiple commercial vessels have been disabled and more than 50 redirected since enforcement operations began, amid escalating tensions and disrupted commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
