MTC approves regulations to boost innovation and development of cabotage in Peru
The Executive Power approved, through Supreme Decree N.° 014-2026-MTC, the regulations for the promotion of cabotage as provided in Law N.° 32049. The main instrument will be the Supervised Innovation Programs, temporary mechanisms that will allow companies and public entities to develop innovative projects under an exceptional regime. A five-member Technical Evaluation Committee will be created to issue annual calls for proposals. Approved initiatives will operate for one to five years, with a possible extension of up to one additional year.
