Terminal Puerto Arica (TPA) recorded a positive operational performance during April 2026, reaching approximately 270,400 tons transferred in the month, a figure that represents a 33.1% growth compared to the same period of the previous year and marks a monthly record for the concessionaire.
With this result, between January and April 2026, TPA exceeded one million tons transferred, which allows for a positive projection of the operational performance for the current year, considering that there was a 14.22% increase compared to the accumulated total of 2025.
One of the main drivers of this growth was containerized cargo, a segment that also reached historical figures both in the number of containers mobilized and in TEU volume, registering increases exceeding 60% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In this regard, an important milestone for the Peruvian market was achieved in April, reaching a record in imports with the unloading of over a thousand containers destined for southern Peru, consolidating the growth and strengthening of this market for the terminal.
These results also reflect the strengthening of TPA's presence in the Bolivian and southern Peruvian markets, both with increasing participation in the total transfers of the port, consolidating Arica as a key logistics platform for the Andean macro-zone.
Another operational highlight of the month was the handling of a clinker vessel with over 17,000 tons of imports for the local market, reaffirming the dynamism and multipurpose capacity of the terminal.
Camilo Jobet, General Manager of Terminal Puerto Arica, highlighted that "these results reflect the commitment and coordinated work of our teams, as well as the trust that clients and logistics players place in our terminal. We are seeing significant growth in strategic markets such as Bolivia and southern Peru, along with greater consolidation of containerized cargo and multipurpose operations."
During April, the terminal also achieved outstanding institutional and outreach milestones, including the closing of the cruise season with the call of the SH Vega cruise ship and the signing of the first cooperation agreement with the Private University of Tacna, thus strengthening integration and development ties with southern Peru.
