The Ro-Ro vessel MV Asian Captain, operated by Eukor, arrived at the Port of Callao transporting 5,733 units of rolling cargo, marking a milestone for Peruvian port operations by completing the largest discharge of its kind in a single call at the facility.
The operation will include the unloading of vehicles, machinery, and rolling cargo originating from Asia, in a maneuver of high operational demand due to the volume mobilized and the coordination required between the vessel, terminal, and involved logistics actors.
Ian Taylor participates as a shipping agency and pilotage provider, coordinating the vessel's service during an operation that will subsequently connect Callao directly with Asia, with its next destinations being ports in Korea.
Ian Taylor highlighted that these types of operations require high levels of coordination between the vessel, the terminal, and the various logistics actors involved, especially considering the magnitude of the cargo mobilized in a single call.
"Ro-Ro operations of this scale demand planning, coordination, and experienced teams capable of maintaining operational control during each stage of the call," said Yessica Rueda, Operations Manager for Ian Taylor in Peru.
Furthermore, the company noted that "this milestone reflects the trust built through long-term relationships, operational consistency, and execution capability in high-volume maritime operations."
The operation also reinforces the growing movement of rolling cargo between Asia and the Port of Callao, one of the main entry points for vehicles and machinery for the Peruvian market and the west coast of South America.
