SAAM Towage received the "Carbon Footprint Reduction" recognition from the Ministry of Environment of Panama (Level 3), within the framework of the national program Reduce Your Corporate Footprint–Carbon.
The award distinguishes the management carried out by the company to reduce its carbon emissions in the 2024 and 2025 periods, certifying effective and measurable reductions in its tugging operations in the country. Level 3 involves measuring the emissions inventory and also concrete actions to mitigate them.
"This recognition highlights our commitment to the responsible management of greenhouse gas emissions and to the development of an increasingly sustainable operation. Our teams are involved in integrating sustainability into operations and in generating value for the environment, local communities, and our clients," commented SAAM Towage's Central America cluster manager, Matia de Luiggi.
"We are especially proud to be part of the effort that Panama is making together with many companies through this initiative, which achieves new advances every year," he added.
Reduce Your Corporate Footprint–Carbon is promoted by the Ministry of Environment with the support of international organizations such as UNDP and IDB. It seeks to measure, reduce, and neutralize the emissions of the Panamanian private sector to advance towards carbon neutrality.
