EGPN Orders Construction of Two Swan Class Containerships from Chinese Shipyard

Shipping company EGPN Bulk Carrier (EGPN) has ordered the construction of two Swan class containerships with a capacity of 1,900 TEU. The responsible shipyard will be CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding.

According to I marine news, "the vessel, independently developed by Huangpu Wenchong, has become a flagship product in the global feeder containership sector thanks to its exceptional loading efficiency and excellent adaptability."

It was also added that "since its launch in 2020, this type of vessel has undergone continuous improvements and optimizations, earning the preference of a growing number of leading shipowners thanks to its superior quality."

"According to the first-half operating results published by Huangpu Wenchong, the 'Swan' series has accumulated new orders for almost 30 vessels, and its product portfolio has gradually expanded beyond containerships," the publication concluded.
