Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) and Grupo Imetame, partners in the HGT Aracruz joint venture, signed an agreement with Sany for the supply of container handling equipment, including Ship-to-Shore (STS) and Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes for the newly built terminal in Aracruz, Espírito Santo, Brazil.
According to HGT, this agreement represents a fundamental milestone in the project's development and reflects the joint venture partners' commitment to building a world-class facility. The company highlighted that, by combining operational efficiency, sustainability, and scalability, the facility will be well-positioned to support future growth and meet increasing customer demand.
Dheeraj Bhatia, CEO of Hanseatic Global Terminals, said that "the signing of this agreement marks an important milestone on our path to developing a world-class terminal that will serve our customers and support regional economic growth. The incorporation of state-of-the-art equipment will lay the foundation for safe and efficient operations from day one. Officially opened in June 2026, the new container terminal in Aracruz, Brazil, is designed to function as a gateway for regional import and export cargo, as well as a transshipment hub for international shipping services.
