The Mar del Plata Regional Port Consortium has completed a new concrete pavement patching and recovery project on streets within the port's jurisdiction, as part of the road recovery plan being developed to improve traffic conditions and strengthen the port's operational infrastructure.
In this context, 3,600 square meters of pavement were repaired in various sectors of the maritime enclosure. The work was executed in half the anticipated time, with interventions carried out on Prefectura Naval Argentina, BP Mariluz 2, BP Dorrego, and De los Pescadores Avenue, where approximately 3,600 square meters of pavement were improved.
The project originally planned for the intervention of 3,000 square meters, and an additional 600 square meters were later incorporated through a contractual extension, in accordance with current regulations, allowing recovery tasks to be extended to areas that required attention.
"In a context where public works are not only paralyzed in the city but seem like a bad word, from the Port we have been consistently working to recover public space and the streets of the jurisdiction, improving traffic conditions and safety," stated Marcos Gutiérrez, president of the Mar del Plata Regional Port Consortium.
As of early August, the last repaired sections were opened, after the minimum 14 days required for the material to reach adequate strength for service.
This work is part of a comprehensive road recovery plan across the entire port jurisdiction, which includes new interventions to progressively improve streets and internal circulation areas.
The Port Consortium is currently working on preparing new bidding documents to proceed with a concrete pavement patching project and general joint sealing on various port streets.
This intervention will also be joined by a new project aimed at asphalt overlay patching, with the objective of continuing to address the various needs of the port's road network and ensure better traffic conditions.
