The National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq) held a public hearing to receive input, grants, and suggestions on the technical and legal documents related to the leasing of the VDC04 area, located in the Organized Port of Vila do Conde (PA). In total, 17 people registered, and ten participated in the session with comments.
The Agency's Director-General, Federico Dias, emphasized that "this is the moment when we present the entire project to society, promoting transparency, as well as gathering information that can improve the proposal."
Dias also highlighted the strategic importance of the project for national logistics. According to him, as one of the largest agricultural producers in the world, Brazil relies on fertilizer imports. "This is a strategic terminal that directly contributes to reducing the logistics costs of agribusiness, one of the main drivers of the Brazilian economy," concluded the Director-General.
With an area of 39,000 square meters, the VDC04 terminal will be used for handling and storing solid bulk mineral cargo, primarily fertilizers. This terminal is considered important for the logistics of the North Region due to its location at the exit of the Northern Arc. The project foresees a lease contract with a duration of 25 years.
