With the aim of improving connectivity, traffic conditions, road safety, and the well-being of residents in various sectors of Puchuncaví, Puerto Ventanas S.A., along with the municipality and other companies, has launched the road improvement project.
The work includes profiling, leveling, and general improvement of some areas, with the purpose of facilitating daily commutes and ensuring safe circulation. The work will be carried out over approximately three weeks starting today and will be handled by the company Ingeniería y Construcción Semoto SpA.
The interventions, involving machinery and motor graders, will be executed at different points in Puchuncaví and are part of the public-private work plan maintained by the Municipality of Puchuncaví with companies from the commune's industrial sector.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, which included a tour of Los Pescadores road, the commune's mayor, Marcos Morales, praised the collaborative effort and highlighted that "in the commune of Puchuncaví, we have been carrying out road repair work for quite some time with the municipal team. In recent weeks, we have had conversations with companies in the sector where we have reached a collaboration agreement to continue improving this work plan, which is mainly carried out by the operational area of our municipality. In this way, today, companies Oxiquim, Puerto Ventanas, Quintero Energía, and GNL have provided resources to improve important connectivity."
The communal head specified that the interventions began before the rainy season, "starting from the old Horcón road sector towards Campiche, among other arteries that we will be repairing for about 14 days. That is the number of days we have allocated for road repair, but this is a long-term plan given that the commune of Puchuncaví has 60 kilometers of dirt roads."
Finally, the authority highlighted the collaborative public-private work between the local government and companies in the sector. "I want to thank the companies that have provided resources and collaboration not only at this table but we also have other working groups such as in the area of security, emergencies, among other aspects that we are working on jointly for the well-being of our neighbors. I reiterate my gratitude and value the joint work between this mix of public and private sectors," Morales stated.
According to the planning reported by the municipality, the work may show variations regarding the number of kilometers intervened, as the progress will directly depend on the current state of the roads and ground conditions at the time of execution. Likewise, the most deteriorated sections will be prioritized, with the aim of optimizing resource use and ensuring the connectivity of the considered routes.
This initiative is part of the working groups that the municipality has established with companies from the industrial sector that have coordinated to increase security levels in the commune, advance local connectivity, and establish permanent collaboration spaces for the benefit of the communities of Puchuncaví.
