Patrick Terminals orders 22 hybrid units from Kalmar for Australian ports

Patrick Terminals announced an order to Kalmar for 10 Hybrid Straddle Carriers for its terminal at the Port of Melbourne and 12 Hybrid AutoStrads for its AutoStrad Terminal at the Port of Sydney, Australia.

Delivery is scheduled to be completed during the second quarter of 2027.

This investment is part of the 10-year strategic partnership between Patrick Terminals and Kalmar, and represents another step in their decarbonization program.

The hybrid units will reduce fuel consumption and emissions at two of the holding's busiest terminals, while supporting operational performance and reliability.

Patrick Terminals CEO, Michael Jovicic, said that "this order represents another step in the 10-year strategic partnership between Kalmar and Patrick Terminals. The Kalmar AutoStrad plays an important role in the operations of our Brisbane and Sydney terminals, and this order will strengthen our strategy to offer superior value to our customers."

Australia's container terminal operator handles over 3.5 million TEUs annually at its terminals in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle, and in this context, Patrick Terminals seeks to invest in advanced technology that strengthens the country's supply chains and reduces the environmental footprint of its operations.
