The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through the National Port Authority (APN), reported that the Mineral Concentrate Loading Terminal at the Port of Callao served its 2,000th vessel since the start of its operations, a milestone that strengthens the country's port development and reaffirms its strategic role in Peruvian exports.
This achievement represents the accumulated shipment of 35.7 million tons of mineral concentrate, the result of sustained operation that has allowed for high levels of efficiency, safety, and continuity in one of the main specialized terminals of the national port system.
The terminal features a modern tubular conveyor belt and an automated ship loader (shiploader), technology designed to optimize loading processes and meet demanding environmental standards. These characteristics enable safer and more sustainable operations, minimizing environmental impacts and contributing to the well-being of the population.
Furthermore, the MTC is promoting the modernization of the Callao mineral dock through an investment of US$ 189.9 million. The project aims to optimize the terminal's operational capacity and ensure higher levels of safety and efficiency for Peruvian foreign trade.
The MTC reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of the National Port System by promoting investments that boost competitiveness, modernize port infrastructure, and strengthen Peru's economic growth.
