On May 21 and 22, Lima became the epicenter of the maritime and logistics sector of the Americas with the celebration of CIANAM Lima 2026. The international meeting gathered the main authorities, international delegations, and leaders from the continent's river and logistics sector.
The event was inaugurated by the president of the Peruvian Association of Maritime Agents (APAM), Estenio Pinzás, who opened the International Symposium "International Maritime Trade: Reshaping the Geopolitical Scenario".
During the days of analysis and debate, experts agreed on several critical points for the future of the industry:
Locally, the discussion panels highlighted the resilience of the Peruvian economy in the face of the current political landscape. Furthermore, the significant port and logistics investment opportunities being promoted under the National Port Development Plan, led by the National Port Authority (APN), were emphasized.
«The maritime and river sector must be understood as a key promoter of economic development, connectivity, and investment in the region», was concluded during the interventions.
The symposium featured strong global representation, bringing together members of the Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents ( FONASBA) and CIANAM delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the United States, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
