The Ambassador of Chile to Argentina, Gonzalo Uriarte Herrera, and the Governor of the Province of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir, held an official meeting with the objective of consolidating a strategic bilateral agenda aimed at enhancing terrestrial connectivity through the establishment of the Bioceanic Corridor, which will offer a connection to the northern Chilean ports.
During the meeting, the authorities prioritized the optimization of the Jama Pass and border infrastructure, a pass considered crucial for streamlining controls and vitalizing regional transit along the interoceanic road axis.
Both parties agreed that consolidating the Bioceanic Corridor is key to strengthening the commercial and logistical competitiveness of the region in the global market.
In the same vein of integration, the need to reinforce terrestrial and air connectivity was raised. On this point, Ambassador Uriarte Herrera emphasized the importance of establishing periodic flights linking Jujuy with Iquique and Antofagasta to "boost tourism and trade."
The meeting was attended by the Consul General of Chile, Cristián Oschilewski, while from the Government of Jujuy were the Chief of Cabinet of Ministers, Freddy Morales; Ministers Federico Cardozo (Treasury and Finance), Normando Álvarez García (Government, Justice, Human Rights, and Labor), and Carlos Stanic (Infrastructure); along with the Secretary of Regional Integration and International Relations, Belén Pastrana.
