Australia: Victoria International Container Terminal Receives Automatic Hybrid Container Carriers

Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) deployed four Kalmar automatic hybrid container carriers (ACC) at the Port of Melbourne. The equipment, with a lifting capacity of 60 tons and lithium-ion battery systems, increases energy efficiency by 40% and reduces up to 50 tons of carbon emissions per unit annually. The investment is part of VICT's expansion program to reach over 1.6 million TEU annually.
