Military Permit Derails South Korea's Anma Offshore Wind Project
South Korea's 532 MW Anma offshore wind farm project, valued at $3.5 billion and scheduled for completion in 2029, faces significant delays due to military permit conflicts. The project site overlaps with an Agency for Defense Development (ADD) military weapons testing area, preventing the Ministry of National Defense from approving the required public waters occupation permit. Multiple suppliers, including SK Oceanplant ($273 million contract) and LS Cable & System ($110 million contract), have suspended or terminated their contracts, while major shareholder Equis considers selling its 78 percent stake.
