Small Fishing Vessel Survives Collision With a Megamax Boxship
On May 21, a small fishing vessel collided with the 24,000 TEU container ship Singapore Express in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. The Stella Polaris sustained extensive damage to its wheelhouse and bow but remained afloat and was towed to Harlingen. Only one crewmember sustained minor injuries, and no damage to Singapore Express was reported. An investigation into the cause is underway.
