Tauranga Container Terminal - Dangerous Goods (DG) Discharge Requirements
Tauranga Container Terminal (TCT) announced new Dangerous Goods discharge requirements effective 1 July 2026. Prior to vessel arrival, customs clearance, MPI clearance, shipping line release, and confirmed transport arrangements must be confirmed. DG containers will only be discharged where legal dwell requirements can be met. Most DG classes are limited to a maximum dwell time of 3 days, with certain classes (Class 1, 5.1, 6, and 7) subject to more restrictive controls. Where conditions are not met, containers will remain on board or require alternative off-site storage.
