MSC 111 Approves MASS Code and Advances Global Maritime Cybersecurity

The 111th session of the IMO's Maritime Safety Committee adopted the MASS Code to regulate autonomous ships. In parallel, Member States agreed to develop a future Maritime Cybersecurity Code, recognizing the growing reliance on digital systems, OT technologies, and interconnected logistics platforms. For Chile, whose economy depends on ports and bioceanic corridors, this regulatory evolution represents a strategic opportunity for early participation.
