Miguel Segovia: Delay has a cost, six years to approve a strategic port
The Environmental Assessment Commission of the Valparaíso Region unanimously approved the Environmental Impact Study for the San Antonio Outer Port, a USD 4.45 billion project. The project entered the Environmental Impact Assessment System in May 2020 and was approved in May 2026, after six years of evaluation. Five international consortia are in the bidding process, with awarding expected before the end of the year and works set to begin in the first half of 2027.
