Monitors artificial reefs and promotes whale care in the bay.
The National Port System Administration (ASIPONA) Manzanillo strengthens its environmental conservation efforts through the monitoring of artificial reefs and the protection of marine species in the bay.
Through the Environmental Monitoring Study on Artificial Reefs, the development of marine organisms inhabiting three vessels deliberately sunken to create new habitats and promote biodiversity is tracked.
Additionally, ASIPONA carries out surveillance and monitoring actions to protect whales transiting through the navigation channel, contributing to a safe coexistence between port activity and marine life.
With these actions, the entity reaffirms its commitment to ocean conservation and the sustainable development of the port.
