Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán.- As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and the promotion of responsible practices in the maritime-port sector, the National Port System Administration (ASIPONA) Lázaro Cárdenas participated on June 5th in the virtual meeting "Port Decarbonization," developed in coordination with personnel from Honduran Maritime Ports.
The activity was carried out within the framework of World Environment Day commemorations and aimed to exchange experiences, strategies, and good practices related to the decarbonization of port operations, as well as to strengthen cooperation among port administrations committed to environmental protection.
Presentation of the decarbonization strategy
During the working session, ASIPONA Lázaro Cárdenas personnel presented the exhibition called "Decarbonization Strategy," in which various actions implemented within the port facility to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and decrease the carbon footprint associated with port operations were unveiled.
The presentation allowed for the sharing of experiences on the initiatives currently being developed at the port to promote responsible environmental management, aligned with global sustainability challenges and international commitments aimed at mitigating climate change.
Exchange of experiences for a more sustainable port sector
The virtual meeting represented an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and collaboration among port authorities in the region, promoting the exchange of knowledge on projects, strategies, and mechanisms that favor the transition towards more efficient, resilient, and environmentally responsible ports.
Through these types of activities, ASIPONA Lázaro Cárdenas continues to consolidate itself as a national benchmark in port sustainability, promoting actions that contribute to the development of modern infrastructure committed to environmental protection.
