ASIPONA conducts chemical emergency response drill in Manzanillo

With the aim of fostering awareness and understanding of the risks associated with chemical emergencies, as well as the need for tested and validated response plans to respond promptly and effectively to these unforeseen events, personnel from the Port Emergency Center, as well as the Ecology and Security areas of the Manzanillo National Port System Administration, conducted a drill this Friday under the hypothesis of a chlorine gas leak.

This activity is part of the strategies aimed at responding to and coordinating emergencies involving the release of chemical substances.

This seeks to update and strengthen the Administration's procedures in the event of an emergency in the properties under its jurisdiction.

The drill, carried out at the Port Emergency Center, took place within the framework of the National Day for Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Response and also serves as a space for reflection.

In this context, ASIPONA Manzanillo calls on citizens to be aware of the importance of yielding the right of way to all emergency vehicles traveling on avenues, streets, and highways, as their work contributes to saving human lives.
