Baleària Canarias has formalized the acquisition of Transportes Intercanarios with the aim of enhancing its maritime transport model and consolidating its position in the islands.
Baleària's president, Adolfo Utor, highlighted that "the acquisition of Transportes Intercanarios means adding a company with extensive experience, a professional team deeply knowledgeable of the territory, and specialized resources that complement maritime activity. Our strategic objective is to boost its growth and continue to raise the quality of service offered to customers."
Founded in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1976, Transportes Intercanarios is a benchmark in the Canary Islands' logistics sector. Its activities range from the transport of all types of goods to the handling of port machinery and equipment, with branches in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, as well as trusted collaborators in the rest of the archipelago.
The acquired company brings a human team of approximately 60 professionals and an operational fleet of over 500 vehicles and cargo units, including tractor units, semi-trailers, platforms, port machinery, and refrigerated and isothermal containers designed for the transport and preservation of products.
