The Port of Santander (Spain) has renewed the vehicle fleet for its Port Police service. In total, four new cars were included, which will be in service for a period of five years.
Details of this milestone were provided on the website of the Port Authority of Santander (APS), stating that "the new vehicles incorporate comprehensive equipment aimed at reinforcing the safety and response capability of the Port Police. Among their main features are the V-1 light signaling bridge with blue LED technology and acoustic signaling for priority vehicles, front emergency lights, and a V16 pre-signaling device connected to the DGT 3.0 platform, which improves vehicle visibility and facilitates incident management on the road."
It was also indicated that "the equipment is completed with two reflective vests approved in accordance with current regulations, a fire extinguisher with a holder, and two rechargeable flashlights, elements that contribute to increasing the safety of agents and their capacity to act in interventions within the port area."
In this regard, the president of the Port Authority of Santander, César Díaz, stated that "the incorporation of these four hybrid vehicles represents another step in the modernization of the APS's vehicle fleet and responds to the institution's commitment to increasingly efficient and sustainable management."
"Thanks to their hybrid technology and ECO environmental label, they will contribute to reducing polluting emissions and the acoustic impact derived from the daily activity of the service, promoting more environmentally friendly mobility within the port environment," added Díaz.
The renewal of the vehicle fleet was executed via a concession by the company Arval Service Lease for an amount of 174,000 euros.
