Vancouver Celebrates One Millionth Passenger Through Facial Biometrics
The Port of Vancouver celebrated the one millionth cruise passenger processed through its facial biometric embarkation system, with the Fullerton family from Kentucky triggering the milestone. Since implementation in June 2024 at Canada Place Cruise Terminal, processing time through U.S. Customs and Border Protection has been reduced by 94 percent, from two to three minutes to approximately 10 seconds per passenger, bringing total embarkation time from around two hours to 30 minutes. The port expects 357 calls and 1.4 million passengers this season.
