100 Tons of Smuggled Copper Seized in Iquique Port
The Investigations Police (PDI), in coordination with the National Customs Service, seized 100 tons of smuggled copper at the Port of Iquique. The operation detected 4 containers loaded with the metal that were to be sent to China, whose documentation did not match what was found. This seizure adds to a previous operation in early April 2026 that dismantled an organization dedicated to exporting stolen copper to Asian markets.
