Wallem managed bulk carrier rescues two Filipino fishermen from sinking vessel
A Wallem-managed bulk carrier rescued two Filipino fishermen from a sinking boat in May near the Babuyan Islands off the Philippines. The vessel, en route from Abbot Point, Australia to Cam Pha, Vietnam with 80,000 tonnes of coal, stopped and deployed its rescue boat at 0835 Local time. The fishermen were safely recovered and later handed over to a Philippine Coast Guard response vessel. The Coast Guard commended the crew's professional seamanship and swift action.
