Freight train derails in Chiguayante: No injuries
A Fepasa freight train carrying cellulose to a regional port derailed past five in the morning near Chiguayante station, with nine cars coming off the tracks. With no injuries reported, the incident blocked the Santa Sofía railway crossing for almost four hours, affecting the Biotren system in the Biobío region. The Railway Accident Investigation Unit (UIAF) is investigating the causes of the derailment.
