Hormuz Strait transit traffic surges 105% as US-Iran deal eases shipping risks
Confirmed Strait of Hormuz crossings jumped to 70 verified transits on 24 June, up 105% day-on-day, as demining efforts and the Omani route progressed following the bilateral US-Iran free-passage framework. Commercial traffic accounted for 53 transits, with 43 crossings flowing west-east and low-risk vessels dominating. The Omani-identified route saw the highest use with 27 crossings, while no new physical attacks have been recorded since 10 June, reinforcing improved risk perception.
