Expedition Cruise Ship Hondius Delayed for Additional Cleaning
The expedition cruise ship Hondius, operated by Oceanwide Expeditions, is delayed in Rotterdam for additional cleaning procedures following a hantavirus outbreak. Based on inspection findings by the public health service GGD, the vessel will undergo enhanced cleaning before being cleared to depart. As of May 25, the WHO reported 12 cases linked to the cruise ship, with three passengers deceased and no additional deaths since May 2. The company expects the ship to return to service on June 13.
