Brazil: Renovation of São Francisco and Paranaíba Channels Seeks to Boost Northeast's Logistics Development
Brazil is pushing for the renovation of the São Francisco and Parnaíba river channels to revitalize logistics in the Northeast. The São Francisco project aims to reactivate commercial navigation along 1,371 navigable kilometers, mobilizing up to 5 million tons of cargo in the first year. The Parnaíba waterway, spanning 1,344 kilometers, will transport between 4 and 5 million tons of grain annually, integrating with railway and port networks to improve regional logistics efficiency.
