Implementation of Heavy Load Surcharge (HWS) – China to Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay (X4FS)

Maersk is implementing a Heavy Load Surcharge for 20 all dry equipment types with Verified Gross Mass exceeding 20 metric tons and 40 non-operating reefer containers exceeding 23 metric tons from Far East Asia to Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, effective 29th May 2026. The surcharge applies to routes from Shanghai, Qingdao, Xingang, and Dalian, China to Santos, Itapoa, Itajai, Paranagua, Montevideo, and Buenos Aires, with rates ranging from USD 200 to USD 400 depending on container type and weight threshold.
