Maersk Keeping Strait of Hormuz Transits Suspended as Ceasefire Confidence Wavers
Maersk continues to suspend transits through the Strait of Hormuz due to uncertainty surrounding the fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran. The world's second-largest container carrier maintains that the situation remains "highly volatile" and "deeply dynamic," with no full maritime certainty restored. The company suspended ocean cargo bookings for much of the Upper Gulf region, including Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and most UAE ports except Khor Fakkan, while expanding alternative landbridge operations.
