U.S. Admiral Says Operation EPIC FURY Rolled Back '40 Years' of Iranian Military Investment
Admiral Brad Cooper of U.S. Central Command testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that the 38-day Operation EPIC FURY effectively dismantled Iran's military power projection capabilities. U.S. and Israeli forces conducted over 10,200 sorties and 13,500 strikes, destroying 161 vessels, more than 85% of Iran's ballistic missile and drone industrial base, and 82% of air defense systems. Despite the scale of damage, Cooper acknowledged Iran retains "nuisance capability" to disrupt maritime commerce in the Strait of Hormuz.
