Salvors Refloat Grounded Drill Rig off the Coast of Tunisia
Tunisian salvors successfully refloated the drill rig Ocean Valiant on May 5 after it drifted aground in the Bizerte region in January 2025. The 1988-built rig, previously owned by Diamond Offshore and bound for demolition in Turkey, lost its towline during rough weather while under tow by the AHTS SPM Neel Pratap 180. The vessel remained on the rocks for over a year before salvors mobilized with Turkish anchor handlers to complete the refloating operation.
