Aramco Ramped East-West Pipeline to Maximum as Hormuz Shipping Crisis Deepened
Saudi Aramco revealed it operated its 1,200-kilometer East-West Pipeline at full capacity of 7 million barrels per day during Q1 2026 to mitigate the Strait of Hormuz disruption. The company rerouted crude exports via Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast through alternative routes including the SUMED pipeline and Suez Canal. Aramco estimated cumulative liquids supply losses from the Hormuz crisis exceeded 1 billion barrels since late February, with adjusted net income reaching $33.6 billion for the quarter.
