Contecon Manzanillo welcomed the arrival of the vessel MSC Domitille, whose call marked the start of operations for the new Sierra route by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). According to the port company, this connection strengthens the maritime link between Asia and Mexico through the Port of Manzanillo.
The Sierra service includes the rotation Qingdao, Tianjin, Busan, Manzanillo, Lázaro Cárdenas, and Qingdao.
"The incorporation of this maritime connection reflects the work we have been doing to strengthen the terminal's operational capacity. Our goal is to continue creating the necessary conditions for more routes to choose Manzanillo as a strategic point for cargo movement," said José Antonio Contreras Ruiz, CEO of Contecon Manzanillo.
With this new maritime connection, the terminal – which is undergoing expansion – consolidates its capacity to facilitate commercial exchange between the Asian market and Mexico.
