Contecon Manzanillo has planted 16,250 mangroves in environmental restoration

In addition to the permanent work carried out by the National Port System Administration Manzanillo (ASIPONA Manzanillo) in the Cuyutlán Lagoon and the Valle de las Garzas Lagoon, various port terminals also contribute to the restoration and rehabilitation of these valuable wetlands.

For Contecon Manzanillo, actions aimed at the care of coastal ecosystems constitute a priority, with special emphasis on the conservation and restoration of mangroves.

This terminal alone has restored 6.5 hectares of mangrove forest in the northern part of the port and, in recent years, has planted 16,250 mangroves of different species. Likewise, it actively participates in the restoration efforts of the Cuyutlán Lagoon, through the sponsorship of the rescue of Vaso III, considered the largest wetland in the state of Colima.

Contecon Manzanillo is one of the terminals that meets and even exceeds the commitments established in environmental protection. It stands out for being the first terminal to obtain Carbon Neutral certification and for signing conservation agreements that contribute to the protection of the Cuyutlán Lagoon, joining the initiatives promoted by the port of Manzanillo and the Ministry of the Navy to preserve local ecosystems.
