South Africa: Transnet Reports 9% Year-on-Year Increase in Vessel Traffic

Transnet reported a 9% year-on-year increase in vessel traffic during the 2025/2026 financial year, with 8,630 arrivals compared to 7,912 in the previous period. Cargo volume at TNPA's eight commercial ports grew by 4.2% to 304 million tons, the largest growth since 2011/12. The automotive sector led with 13.3%, while containers increased by 7.1%, driven by citrus with 22% growth.
