The tanker Makenita H, measuring 151.79 meters in length and 23.3 meters in beam, has entered Tandanor to undergo a series of repair and maintenance works that will require the coordinated intervention of different areas and specialties of the shipyard.
One of the main tasks will focus on the vessel's steering system, where the rudder blade and stock, the pintle pin, and other associated components will be serviced. These tasks will include dismantling, inspections, dimensional verifications, machining, component renewal, and their subsequent assembly and adjustment.
The repair at the Argentine shipyard will also involve steel renewals in sections of the hull and deck, along with interventions on deck structures and elements. Work will also be carried out on valves, piping, and components of the vessel's cargo, ballast, and service systems.
The planned scope also includes work on the anchoring system, with the servicing of both chains and anchors, in addition to cleaning and treatment tasks in ballast tanks, fairing, and conditioning of different sections of the vessel.
During the process, non-destructive testing and various trials will be conducted to verify the integrity of the executed repairs. Part of the work on the steering system will be subject to inspection by the Argentine Naval Prefecture and the classification society RINA.
The repair of the Makenita H will integrate mechanical capabilities, steel renewal, piping, fairing, and quality control, in an intervention that highlights Tandanor's infrastructure and technical knowledge to meet the repair needs of large vessels.
