Port of Iquique Increases Cargo Transfer in First Quarter of 2026
The Port of Iquique transferred 875,633 tons of cargo in the first quarter of 2026, exceeding the 863,327 tons from the same period in 2025 by 1%. Notable increases include a 104% growth in project cargo, 37% in exports, and 167% in cargo destined for various countries. The Multi-Operated Terminal saw a 202% increase in tonnage, driven by lithium projects in Catamarca, Argentina, and photovoltaic projects in Tarapacá and Antofagasta.
