Australia's Ichthys LNG Project Dodges Labor Strike
The Offshore Alliance has called off a planned strike at Australia's Ichthys LNG terminal in Western Australia after negotiations with management resumed. The facility, developed by Japanese firm Inpex and capable of producing about nine million tonnes per annum of LNG, represents approximately 10 percent of Australian export volume. The union's decision comes amid elevated LNG prices in Asia due to the U.S./Israeli conflict with Iran.
