U.S. Coast Guard SAR Helicopter Crashes Near Sitka, Alaska

A U.S. Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crashed near Sitka, Alaska on Monday morning during a training flight near Harbor Mountain, about two miles northeast of Coast Guard Air Station Sitka. All four aircrew members were retrieved by Sitka Fire and Rescue within about 50 minutes and transported to Edgecumbe Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. No fatalities were reported, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
