Cargo Vessel Sinks Off Greek Island of Andros, All Crew Rescued
The Vanuatu-flagged cargo vessel Corsage C sank off the Greek island of Andros on 6 May after running aground and striking rocks. All nine crew members—eight Turkish nationals and one Azerbaijani national—were successfully rescued with no injuries reported. The vessel was transporting 8,000 metric tonnes of soda ash from Albania to Ukraine, prompting authorities to activate anti-pollution measures and deploy containment equipment to prevent environmental damage.
