UK Hydrographic Office New Next-Gen ADMIRALTY Digital Sailing Directions

The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) launched ADMIRALTY Digital Sailing Directions (ADSD), transforming navigational guides into an interactive digital format. The platform features geo-display integration, powerful search functions, and indicative routes to streamline passage planning. In a survey of more than 50 mariners, 88% found ADSD intuitive and easy to use, while 91% agreed the geo-display made sailing directions easier to understand. Initially, 38 popular volumes covering major shipping routes including 27 of the world's top 30 ports will be available, with full global coverage by the end of 2026.
