Head of the Ports and Airports portfolio presents advances in inland navigation, cabotage, and waterway infrastructure, in addition to strategic projects planned for the coming years.

The Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, will present this Thursday (21), at 9 am, the balance of the main actions, investments, and advances of the National Secretariat of Waterways and Navigation since its creation two years ago. The event will also include the announcement of the strategic agenda planned for the waterway mode for the second half of 2026. The ceremony will be held in the auditorium of the Ministry of Ports and Airports, located in Block R of the Esplanada dos Ministérios, in Brasília.
During the event, data will be presented on the growth of waterway transport and cabotage in the country, investments in waterway infrastructure, dredging and rock removal works, expansion of river terminals, modernization of locks, and advances in the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM).
The presentation will also highlight the waterway concession projects planned for next year, initiatives aimed at decarbonizing water transport, and actions to strengthen the Brazilian naval industry.
