Star Princess Sets Sail with Sustainable Food Waste Solution from Power Knot Ocean
Power Knot Ocean announced the successful deployment of 26 of its machines aboard Princess Cruises' Star Princess, the second Sphere-class vessel weighing 177,882 gross tons and accommodating up to 4,300 guests. The LFC biodigesters and WEP effluent pumps were commissioned prior to the ship's debut in late 2025, ensuring sustainable food waste management from her very first voyage. The biodigester units, available in nine sizes accommodating 10 kg to 6,000 kg of food waste per day, are strategically placed in galleys and garbage rooms.
